Passports should be valid for at least 6 months.  Whilst most western countries can purchase a 30-day visa on arrival (USD 25) some nationalities may be required to purchase a visa prior to arrival.  Please consult an Egyptian embassy in your home country.

  • 180 days or more before the trip : 15% cancellation fee
  • 180-91 days before the trip: 40% fee applies

FAQ’s

I’ve never done a liveaboard before, what does it mean?

Liveaboard diving entails staying on a boat or ship for some time without returning to land. The advantage of this is that it enables the divers to reach those reefs which may be too far from land to visit by day. You may have seen the saying “Dive, eat, sleep, repeat” in the diving world, this is precisely what you do on a liveaboard.

Do they cater to specific diets?

Yes, they do. The MV Taka has exceptional chefs onboard and they deliver food for a variety of dietary requirements given prior notice.

I sometimes struggle to get out of the water in dive gear, can I remove it in the water?

Yes, MV Taka has a specifically designed dive platform at the back of the boat which is at sea level. From here you can transfer onto the tender without equipment and the crew will move it for you before assisting you with putting it on or taking it off.

We are travelling a long way to get there. Is it possible to do more than one trip?

Sporting 9 deluxe twin cabins and 4 luxury suites she is capable of comfortably accommodating 26 guests.  Each cabin has its own climate control, en-suite bathroom, minibar and TV with DVD player.  Blue Horizon has several areas in which to relax between and after dives with two sundecks, a jacuzzi, lounge and dining area you are sure to find a great place to relax or review your footage from the day’s dives. 

Blue Horizon’s dive deck is spacious and well thought out, accommodating all divers and having the capability to provide either air or Nitrox, the dive crew are always on hand to cater for your needs. The dive deck also has charging stations for camera batteries as well as rinse tanks for that post-dive camera dunk.

The Red Sea & When to dive

The beauty of the Red Sea is that it provides year-round diving and it is super cheap when compared to other destinations.  Known for its beautiful reefs and clear water, the Red Sea also has other attractions such as globally recognized wrecks and numerous species of Pelagics and sharks.  Water temperatures range from 25-30ºC (77-86ºF) with visibility in excess of 20m (65 Ft) it’s not hard to work out why this destination drawers such attention from recreational divers.
